Ealing Trailfinders Academy A v Haringey Rhinos won 31-7
The Academy A took on Haringey Rhinos at Vallis Way on Sunday in the Saracens Herts/Middx League 3. Grey skies and the threat of rain never stopped the enthusiasm from both sides.
Despite long periods of possession and set piece dominance the young Trailfinders failed to get on the score sheet, resolute defence and huge commitment kept the Haringey line in tact.
Patience told and eventually led to scores from Shehabi, and two from Clarke before half time.
The second half saw the introduction of U16 Emerging Players Group flanker Ben Retter and scrum half Josh Steadman. Having trained with the Academy since pre season and moving up to work alongside the U18 group both slotted in well and should be very pleased with their fist appearance.
Further tries from skipper Oscar Avis and Josh Hodson who is back for the Christmas break saw the bonus point secured and the win sealed.
Focus now move to the U23 Reunion match on Sunday 22nd December and the post Christmas U20 match against Nottingham Academy on Saturday 4th January at Vallis Way, 2:30 kick off.
