Welcome to the Ealing Trailfinders Under 12’s for 22/23
Ealing Trailfinders Under 12’s age group is for those boys who are in Year 7 at school (from September 2022 onwards).
We are a welcoming and enthusiastic bunch of boys who really enjoy our rugby under the leadership and guidance of our fantastic team of Volunteer Coaches led by Head Coach, Cyril Renaud and Age Group Manager, Hannah Cadwallader.
Our Under 12 age group train on Sunday’s from 12:00 noon to 1:30pm and Thursday evenings from 6:00-7pm. We train at our home ground, Trailfinders Sports Club, Vallis Way, W13 0DD. See map and directions: HERE
We participate in the West London League alongside other West London clubs such as Rosslyn Park, Wasps, Saracens, Ruislip and Teddington. We also enter several Minis Festivals over the season which the children (and parents) love. One of the new features at Under 12’s is that we will now participate in the U12 Middlesex League (4 matches).
This year all Under 12 players will continue to learn new skills such as rucks, mauls and scrums and we will introduce fending-off below the armpit. The aim is to teach these new rugby skills in a safe and fun environment.
At all our sessions, the emphasis is on the player’s enjoyment and safety as we believe that this is the best way for them to learn. A typical training session will be based around several different games (from typical playground to rugby) which all help in developing different skills. For contact rugby specific skills the games will include a small number of players to develop these core skills in a safe environment.
Every year we welcome new players to the squad, many of whom have never played rugby before and we hope for more new players this year. If you are interested, please contact the Head Coach or Age Group Manager through the adjacent contact details.
