New structure for Ealing Trailfinders Academy

Teddington v Ealing Academy Oscar AvisEaling Trailfinders are delighted to announce a major restructuring of their Young-Player Development Programme, which will be delivered and managed by the Ealing Trailfinders Academy.

The new organisation will work closely with players from the U15-U23 age groups and focus on two key areas.

The first is a commitment to producing the next generation of players for our professional squad via an individual high-performance programme. This will combine skills, game awareness, strength and conditioning and lifestyle coaching. In addition we intend to foster a lifelong love of rugby for players who will go onto play in our amateur ranks.

The second aim is a reinforcement of our belief in player development and to this end we are expanding our Emerging-Player Programme. The Academy will invite local clubs and schools to nominate their most talented players to join a professional high-performance coaching environment with the focus on skills acquisition, while still playing with their home club or school.

“I am extremely proud to unveil our plans for the next phase of our Academy,” Academy Director John Lacey said. “We are now able to provide a clear pathway from youth rugby through to the adult game for all our players.

“By joining our Development and Academy Squads we can focus on player development which is individually focused with a high degree of personal contact. We are excited to offer a chance for players to realise their potential and look forward to a long list of Academy graduates representing Ealing Trailfinders for years to come.”

Further details and updates on the new structure will be available on our website and Twitter feed.
