Senior Academy appoint new backs coach

Ealing Trailfinders Academy are pleased to announce the appointment of Freddie Pierrepont as the new backs coach with the Senior Academy.

Freddie joins the Academy coaching team from Loughborough Students RFC where in addition to playing with the performance squad in National 1, he was head coach of the 2nd XV as well as heading up the  and 2s programme. He was also employed to run a coach development programme providing mentoring advice and CPD to rugby coaches at the University.

On his appointment with Trailfinders Freddie said “Having played against Ealing Trailfinders at various times throughout the last 7 years, it has been obvious that their ambitions are matched by their desire to develop and grow what is a fantastic community club. Loughborough has provided me with a superb platform and environment in which to learn and develop as a player and coach, something I wish to emulate at Ealing. John and Ben’s vision for the Academy and Club is exciting  and infectious, something that was immediately evident. John and I share similar coaching philosophies, and our styles seem to be well matched. I look forward to putting in some hard work with him and the Academy throughout what should be a trilling season for all at Ealing Trailfinders.”

Academy Director John Lacey said “Freddie’s experience with Loughborough Students jumped off the page, his recent National League playing experience and coaching role within an elite performance environment made him an impressive applicant. He showed excellent knowledge and maturity during his interview and it became clear that he was ideally suited to the role. Freddie’s appointment almost completes what I believe is an incredibly strong Academy coaching team. With the various groups gradually returning to training, I am extremely excited about the coming season”
