Emeralds U15

Ealing have been playing girls’ rugby for three seasons and 2013/14 will be our seventh season.

Girls rugby started at Ealing in 2007/8 with 13 girls turning up on the first day of training. By the end of last season, over 40 girls were playing regular rugby. This season we will play league fixtures across the South of England against teams including Saracens, Hackney, Lakenham, Thurrock, Colchester, Rochford and Newmarket.

We established girl’s rugby with an U15 side and this year girls will move up from U12 to join new players recruited through the Emerging Schools competition to create our most experienced u15 squad to date.

Last year many of our girls gained county and regional honours. However, the range of abilities is very wide and we are always keen to attract new players, especially those that have never played rugby before.

The social side of the club is very active and events have included formal dinners, bowling and Nando’s evenings, Christmas lunches, group visits to Internationals and socials.

Our coaches at all levels are fully qualified, have emergency first response training and are CRB checked.

The following age-bands apply to schools, clubs and a colleges playing girls rugby in England.

U15 – Aged 13 or 14 on the 1st September 2013 (normally School Years 9 and 10) – laws as shown in RFUW handbook
