Academy players stepping up

It is with much pride that we can today announce that Academy flanker Tyler Bush is set to make his debut with the 1st XV in tomorrows rearranged B&I Cup game against Rotherham Titans.

Tyler has been with Ealing throughout mini, youth and Academy stages and has had a great season so far.

Tyler Bush - August 2015

Tomorrow also sees centre Louis Flynn set to make his National 1 debut with his loan club Henley Hawks away to Plymouth Albion.

Louis Flynn - August 2015

Lou is in his third season with the club originally joining the Development Squad and was invited to stay on with the Academy.

Academy Director John Lacey said “These two selections are great news for the lads, Lou has been really unlucky with injury and when he got back was involved in a car accident which ended his season, he has worked really hard to get back in shape and has done well up at Henley, impressing in their 2s and earning his break. Tyler has been impressive this season, he has come on well and shown some real potential, tomorrows opportunity is a god send for him, we’d like to thank Ben Ward and the Pro coaches for giving Tyler this chance and we wish him and all the boys playing the best of luck. I’m really proud of the boys and so glad their hard work has been recognised. From the Academy’s point of view, this is what it is all about, seeing players develop, make steps towards reaching their goals and getting recognition. It also serves as a great example to the whole Academy that hard work really pays off. We look to work with late developers and those that feel they may have been overlooked. Tyler, Lou and Marcus Lowe, who has been training full time with Pros for the last couple of weeks, were all overlooked for representative rugby at U16. Its a great day for all the Academy family”
