REPORT: Ealing Trailfinders RFC 29 – 22 Rosslyn Park

Ealing Trailfinders 1st XV continued their impressive unbeaten start to the season by defeating derby-rivals Rosslyn Park 29-22 in a hard-fought encounter. Park outscored Ealing Trailfinders by three tries to two but thanks to the boot of ex-Worcester centre Tom Wheatcroft, Ealing Trailfinders ultimately deserved their victory on warm day at Vallis Way.

The Ealing Trailfinders kicked off their 2012/2013 National League One campaign with an emphatic 37-13 win over Coventry at the Butts Park Arena. The long-awaited start to the season did not disappoint as the Ealing side were just too good for a team that, like ETRFC, harbour promotion ambitions.

England Counties Tour To Uganda and Kenya 2012: Tom Wheatcroft

The tour to Uganda and Kenya was eye opening and a one in a life time opportunity that I will never forget. What was meant to be one flight for the whole touring party turned in to three flights over three days, luckily myself, Peter Hodgkinson and Phil Chesters were picked to go out on the first flight.

The Ealing Trailfinders travelled to Stourbridge in buoyant mood after their convincing victory at home the previous Saturday. Both sides began the game nervously with Ealing Trailfinders particularly error-prone in the early exchanges. Ealing Trailfinders managed to keep Stourbridge at bay with their defensive prowess.

Ealing Trailfinders had the opportunity to get back to winning ways when Wharfedale made the long trip down to West London. On a blustery afternoon, Ealing Trailfinders opted to play into a strong wind for the first half. Ealing Trailfinders began the game full of confidence with a trade-mark Peter Hodgkinson counter attack almost leading to a try within minutes of the game kicking off.

Ealing Trailfinders welcomed Stourbridge to Vallis Way on Saturday. The home side were looking to continue their fantastic start to the season by winning their 7th game in a row in Nationa League 1. Ealing Director of Rugby Mike Cudmore named an unchanged starting XV from the side that won at Wharfedale the previous weekend.
