Many thanks to all of the U23s who fought a great battle in front of a sizeable crowd yesterday, Sunday 22nd December; ‘Hoban’s Heroes’ somehow sneaked a 20 – 15 win against ‘Lambo’s Losers’ but it was great to see everyone giving it loads in what was probably a far better game than it might have been had Tring not ‘bottled it’. Certainly the standard of play from ALL who participated was of the highest level, hopefully a testament to some of the Sundays they had spent learning the game, and the spirit of rugby, at Vallis Way.
As mentioned after the final whistle to the players, Ealing Amateurs are well set this season, fielding three teams each weekend, with appropriate rugby available for the enthusiast and the occasional. The 1st XV are now playing some highly competitive rugby in The Shield and it is mathematically possible that we might sit at the very top of this league table over the Christmas period. Please consider joining training on January 2nd and turning out on January 4th (and January 11th if you are yet to head back to college) or as often as possible if you are working or studying in London: just contact Nick Lambert at: firstname.lastname@example.org
The Club hopes that all the players and spectators enjoyed meeting up with old friends and team-mates yesterday and that we will see lots of you again in the New Year. In the coming years, no doubt many of you will return to London to work and the Club sincerely hopes that yesterday was a reminder of where you should be spending your Saturdays.
Keep a look-out for the club website for a further fixture in Easter!
