England Counties 27 v 07 France Federale

Friday night was a momentous occasion for Ealing Trailfinders Rugby Club as we hosted the prestigious England Counties fixture against France Federale. The night was a great result all around with England getting a fantastic result to reclaim the Jean Claude Baque trophy which has been in French possession since 2009.

The night was cold and snow was falling however that didn’t stop supporters coming to see some top quality rugby at Ealing Trailfinders Rugby Club as another weekday floodlit game was welcomed by supporters. The food and drink from Trailfinders Sports Club lifted spirits which was needed after England Counties went down by a converted try in the first 10 minutes leaving all wondering which way the evening might go. This proved to be an early blip in what was a fantastic display of English National League rugby. Notable performances from Ealing Trailfinders stars Peter Hodgkinson and Sam Shires on their home ground certainly helped push England Counties to their trophy winning result.
