I was very sorry to hear the sad news about Steve Keen.
I started playing regularly with Steve in the early 1990s. At that time we had a large number of good front row players and Steve did very well to force his way into the team. He subsequently to become a cornerstone of a side which won the Middlesex Cup and came very close to promotion from London Division 1. Steve was immensely loyal and I felt, at the time when we started sliding down the leagues, that he easily had the ability to leave and play at a higher level. I was very pleased that he did not.
He was, as others have said, a great bloke. He was responsible for probably the best throwaway line I have ever heard. My condolences are with his family.
