REPORT: Ealing Cougars 54 – 24 Imperial College

 

Ealing Cougars Blast their way into the Middlesex Merit Table Final with an eight try haul.

The Cougars started at a furious pace pinning Imperial College back into their own half straight from kick off and a good passage of sustained pressure resulted in a score for Olly Bishop in the corner. Imperial kicked off and were again immediately pushed back into their half with some strong Cougars forward play which resulted in a try  for Oli Miller after good backs play. Another quick try followed by  and The Cougars were in complete control of the game and threatening to run riot.
For some reason the Cougars took their foot off the gas and allowed Imperial back into the game and they quickly scored two break away tries. The Cougars responded with another two tries by Owen Price and Olly Bishop respectively.

Imperial start the second half better and scored another two tries to close the scores but the Cougars rallied and as Imperial tired the Cougars ran in tries from  Jonathan Knott,Brynn Muirhead,Owen Price and Oli Miller.

It was a good result for the Cougars and special mentions go to Mitch Shankland,Tom Byrne,Jonathan Knott and Owen Price who all excelled. The scoreline flattered the Cougars and they will need to be play better against Hammersmith and Fulham in the final on the 9th of April.
