Senior Academy flanker Tyler Bush and No8 Marcus Lowe have been invited to train alongside the 1st XV Pro Squad for 2 weeks in January and February. The pair will join up with the full time players as a further step on their development pathway.
Flanker Tyler Bush has been impressing many onlookers both with his loan club at Chiswick RFC and in the recent U20 wins against Middlesex U20 and Moseley Academy. Tyler missed out on London & South East Division U18 honours due to a serious knee injury but has returned to his best form in recent weeks.
No8 Marcus Lowe has also been turning in consistently good showings with the Men’s section at the Club and the Senior Academy, a Man of the Match performance against Middlesex U20 was backed up with another fine performance in the win against Moseley Academy. Marcus gained recognition of a good County U20 programme last season gaining L&SE Divisional trials a year early, unfortunately he was unlucky not to get selected, but that disappointment seems to have spurred on his efforts this season.
Academy Director John Lacey said “This is fantastic news for two very genuine, hard working young men. Tyler and Marcus are local Ealing lads, who have been involved with the Academy from the outset. They have come through the Academy U16, Academy U18, Emerging Player Group and are now central characters in the Senior Academy. This is a great opportunity and we thank Ben and the Pro Squad for offering this chance to the lads. Along with Josh Steadman’s inclusion earlier this season, this kind of news can only provide inspiration for all involved in the Academy process at Ealing Trailfinders. It just goes to show that if you’re prepared to work hard, take chances, make mistakes, learn and grow, anything can happen.”
