100 Up for Ealing

Rugby journalist Hugh Godwin chanced upon this article in a very old copy of Rugby World. It describes Ealing’s Centenary year 1971. The article is written by Michael Green, author of “The Art of Coarse Rugby” and a player at Ealing in 1950s. In the book the ball often ends up in the local canal and none of the players are prepared to go in to get it back. The canal is the Grand Union in Greenford, next to the old ground at Horsenden Hill. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Green_(humorist)
