Welcome 2020 / 2021 Ealing Under 8s
At U8 we usually play tag rugby which is a non-contact, fast moving invasion game suitable for boys and girls to play together. It’s fun and vibrant and suitable for all abilities. Teams are made up of 6 players on a small pitch. The teams are made up of mixed ability children so suitable for everyone.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions we are now playing touch rugby without tag belts and players will be sorted into bubbles of 13.
In the U8 we would normally play fixtures both home and away. The children love these even though there are no winners and losers at U8. Our aim is to include as many players as possible participating in regular fixtures at every opportunity. However, these are currently suspended due to Covid-19.

All our coaches and First Aiders are parent volunteers who are DBS checked. Our coaches are usually RFU Level 1 qualified. There is plenty of opportunity for parents to get involved and we are always looking for additional volunteers.
We recommend that children have a gum shield at U8s although it is not compulsory until children become U9s when they begin to play contact.
We are lucky to have fantastic facilities at ETRFC and we would normally have visits from the 1st Team at our training sessions. Age groups would normally take it in turn to provide Mascots and a Guard of Honour at 1st Team Home Games.
Rugby is, in our opinion, one of the best ways for children to learn and understand team sport, to meet and enjoy playing with other children and to get outside and keep fit!
If this sounds like it might be of interest to you and your children, please get in touch and come along for a free 3-week trial and see what it’s all about.
We are now operating a pre-booking system so it’s important to get in touch if you would like to join us.
We all love it!
