Welcome to the 2019/20 season.
At U7 we play tag rugby which is a non-contact, fast moving invasion game suitable for boys and girls to play together. It’s fun and vibrant and suitable for all abilities. Teams are made up of 4 players on a small pitch. The teams are made up of mixed ability children so suitable for everyone.
In the U7 we start to play fixtures both home and away. The children love these even though there are no winners and losers at U7. Our aim is to include as many players as possible participating in regular fixtures at every opportunity.

All our coaches and First Aiders are parent volunteers who are DBS checked. Our coaches are usually RFU Level 1 qualified. There is plenty of opportunity for parents to get involved and we are always looking for additional volunteers.
If we are training at home we usually start at 12pm. We ask for all players and parents to please be pitch side booted for 11.45am ready to start. We usually train for about 60–75 minutes.
We recommend that children have a gum shield at U7s although it is not compulsory until children become U9s when they begin to play contact.
We are lucky to have fantastic facilities at ETRFC and often have visits from the 1st Team at our training sessions. Age groups take it in turn to provide Mascots and a Guard of Honour at 1st Team Home Games.
Rugby is, in our opinion, one of the best ways for children to learn and understand team sport, to meet and enjoy playing with other children and to get outside and keep fit!
If this sounds like it might be of interest to you and your children, please get in touch and come along for a free 3-week trial and see what it’s all about.
We all love it!
