Welcome to the home of the Ealing Trailfinders Academy. Our goal is to develop players to their full potential whether they are playing for pleasure or are progressing towards a semi or fully professional rugby career
At Ealing Trailfinders Rugby Club we have developed a Player Pathway that we believe delivers opportunities for our squads. Players from U15 – U23 are involved in the different parts of the Academy. At the younger age groups the focus is on skills development. As players move up through the age groups there is plenty of access to competitive matches and game time. At the end of youth rugby (at U18) there is a pathway through to the adult game via the Club’s senior section. In addition players with the ability and commitment may be invited to join the Senior Academy that could be the next step towards full or part-time rugby career.
From our Senior Academy through to the Academy U18s and U16s our squads play in competitions, friendly matches, including Zoo League, HML at U18 and U 16, National Colts Cup and LV=U18 Cup. In addition we have a number of prestige fixtures including the Army, Navy and Combined Services as well as Bedford, Nottingham and London Scottish Academies.
To ensure future development of players and the Academy we have established an Emerging Player Group. These players are invited to attend additional training and have to be prepared to make a large commitment to their rugby development. Players for the EPG are drawn from the U15, U16, U17 and U18 age groups. In total we aim to have around 35 players nominated in this group.
We are committed to playing as much competitive rugby as the weather and fixtures permit, we look forward to seeing you all (current and new players) at the club soon.
We welcome applications from ambitious players who would like to join in the success at Ealing. If you are interested in discussing your rugby playing career then please call Academy Director John Lacey to discuss where you could fit in. If you have any general queries please call the Academy Manager Annie Lyndon.
If you are a club/organization interested in playing the Academy please contact our fixtures manager Paul Flynn.
Pre-season training will be starting soon – watch this space for updates on our progress.
